Anon M4 vs M4S Snow Goggles: The Differences

Anon M4 snow goggles are incredibly popular but they typically only suit skiers and snowboarders with larger faces. In 2022, Anon released the M4S version of this popular goggle in order to accommodate smaller faces. In this article I’ll compare all the differences and similarities between the M4 and M4S.

Size Difference

The Anon M4 goggle has always been described from the brand as a “large fit”, however in my opinion it’s a touch smaller than that and in reality fits the vast majority of male faces.

The M4S is described as a “medium fit” (despite having “S” in the name, confusing I know), however I think it leans more towards small-medium.

Anon M4 goggle frames and lenses are approximately 2cm (0.8″) wider than M4S frames and lenses. Hence, Anon M4 and M4S lenses are not interchangeable. The M4 frame/ lens is also roughly 0.5cm (0.2″) taller than the M4S frame/ lens.

Which Size Should I Choose?

As a general rule, here are the sizes to go for:

Face SizeHead CircumferenceBest Size
Large Male60 cm (23.6″) or moreAnon M4
Average Male/ Large Female57 cm – 59 cm (22.4″-23.2″)Anon M4
Small Male/ Average Female54-56 cm (21.3″-22.0″)Anon M4S
Small Female/ Teen53 cm (20.9″) or lessAnon M4S

If you’re in that middle range, don’t worry too much about the sizes as both should feel fine. Just think about whether you prefer a tighter or a larger fit.

There’s not a huge amount of difference in sizing between the M4 and M4S versions, so they are quite forgiving. You’ll want to make sure they aren’t too tight if you go with the smaller version, or have any gaps in the foam if you go with the larger version.

I’d highly recommend trying these in-store so you can figure out exactly which feels the best for your face size. However, if you don’t have the opportunity to do this and are completely unsure which to go for, I’d recommend sizing up to the M4, as this will be more comfortable if the sizing isn’t spot on compared to the M4S.

Frame Color and Lens Options

The color options for these two goggles are also different:

  • Anon M4 : 8 colorways
  • Anon M4S (Cylindrical): 10 colorways

Here are all the color options available for the cylindrical M4 and M4S goggles available at the time of writing. There are some different colors available on the toric versions.
